Established in 2009, Da Vinci Schools are free public schools serving the Wiseburn community and students from 108 different zip codes. Da Vinci Schools operates four charter high schools: Da Vinci Communications, Da Vinci Design, Da Vinci Science, and Da Vinci RISE High. Da Vinci Connect offers a unique elementary school model, blending at-home and in-school learning. Da Vinci Extension is a college and career program leading to degree completion through innovative partnerships with UCLA Extension, College for America at Southern New Hampshire University, and El Camino College.
Da Vinci Schools are located two miles south of Los Angeles International Airport in the South Bay of Los Angeles at the corners of El Segundo, Hawthorne, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. Da Vinci RISE High is 1 of only 10 schools in the nation to win an XQ 'Super School' grant to reimagine high school. Da Vinci Communications is funded in part by a prestigious Next Generation Learning Challenges grant funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundations, Northrop Grumman, Chevron, and two private foundations. Dr. David Brown, the former executive director of the WASC Accrediting Commission, says "Da Vinci Schools are among the very finest I've seen" and Getting Smart, a leading education blog, recognizes Da Vinci as 1 of the Top 75 School and Charter Networks in the nation.

The Institute hosts workshops, conferences, tours, continuing education for educators who are interested in taking a deeper dive into the Da Vinci Model. Recent workshop topics have included: Project-Based Learning, Creating Positive Student Cultures, Mastery-Based Grading and Assessment, and Internships, Work Experience, and Real World Learning.
Transforming Learning Collaborative
Founded by Da Vinci Schools, Next Generation Learning Challenges, and Schools That Can, The Transforming Learning Collaborative (TLC) is a national group of innovative schools committed to offering deep, intensive learning experiences for educators seeking to design new schools or redesign existing ones. The ultimate goal: equitably prepare all students to thrive in a diverse and changing world.
For school teams and individuals who are designing a new school or transforming an existing school, the Transforming Learning Incubator offers a year-long learning and design cohort with mentoring and support from some of the most innovative schools in the country. Participants build and test a prototype to transform an element of school design or an entirely new vision for a school. They join a professional learning community, attend face-to-face learning sessions, and benefit from customized virtual coaching and collaborative learning experiences throughout the year.
